Getting Ready...
Hello friends and family!
Surprisingly enough I figured out how to start a new blog so I can record the journey that Rick and I are about to embark upon through photo's and written text. We are planning to set sail for Mexico, this Sunday, November 2nd. We will be crewing for a friend of ours, Jeff Jacobs and his wife Peggy del Carlo, on their sailboat Amante. It is a 43' Irwin. There will be a total of 6 people on the sailboat.
Our plan is to sail as directly to San Diego as possible, depending on the weather and our mood. It's all a little up in the air at this time. We do have a target date to be in San Diego by the 9th of November. Hopefully we can make a couple of stops along the way.
From San Diego, we will be exchanging some of the crew for a young couple from Australia. They will be sailing with us to Cabo. In Cabo, Rick and I will be getting off of the boat and staying on land for 7 days. Then on December 1st, we will jump on a plane and head home.
This trip will be a trial run for us before we take the big journey ourselves next October on our own sailboat, Notre Isle (Rifiki 37').
I will hopefully be adding some pictures and a brief summary each day of our travels.
Love to all! Rick and Maryalice
